Alabama football: Inside Linebacker (Will)

Projected Starter: Christian Harris (SO)

Harris is another player who heavily benefitted from teammate injuries. In his freshman season, Harris was voted onto the All-Freshman SEC team after leading opposing SEC freshman in tackles for loss. It’s likely that Harris will earn the starting role thanks to his breakout year.

Second Team: Josh McMillon (R-SR)

Much like Moses, McMillon also missed the entire 2019 campaign after suffering an injury. As a result, it seems that he may have lost his starting spot to Harris because of it. However, it’s far from certain that he’ll occupy the second team role- if McMillon can prove to be the better talent, it’s possible that he can gain leverage as the starter.

Reserves: Ale Kaho (JR), Demouy Kennedy (FR), Jackson Bratton (FR)

Ale Kaho proved to be an impactful special teams player after blocking 3 punts in 2019- a statistic which stands as the most in Alabama football history. Kaho also provided blocking strength in the goal-line offense where he lined up as H-back. But due to the proven talent in front of him, Kaho will only find snaps on defense during junk-time.

While Demouy Kennedy should find success later in his career, at 215 pounds it’s unlikely to see him contribute in any meaningful snaps in 2020. He’ll certainly need to bulk up a bit before strapping up against SEC running backs.

Jackson Bratton is another player who will contribute to future Alabama football teams. The former 4-star recruit was the No. 6th ranked player in the state of Alabama- there’s no doubt that the Tide will groom him to take on a larger role as the years go on.
