This is the Bulldogs dream staff of current or former UGA football coaches

Georgia football fans, if you could assemble a “dream staff” of football coaches that consisted of only current or former coaches who were still alive and able to do the job, who would you pick?

This isn’t to put a knock on any current Georgia football coaches, but it would be fun to see this group of guys assembled and all striving to bring that next championship to the Dawgs.

Our parameters are simple for this exercise:

They must either currently coach the Bulldogs or have coached at UGA in the past.

They must be alive and still able to coach (We love you Vince Dooley, but the sideline probably wouldn’t be kind to you today).

Given those guidelines, here’s the modern dream coaching staff for the Dawgs.

Really you’re only looking at three realistic choices; Vince Dooley, Mark Richt, and Kirby Smart. With Dooley already eliminated and Richt having just been relieved of this position five years ago, the obvious choice is Smart.

It’s not a bad choice either. Kirby Smart has proven his prowess at recruiting and demonstrated that he knows how to get the most out of whatever he has. The early success in his head coaching career doesn’t seem to be slowing down. He could go down as the best ever at Georgia.
