Disliked SEC football announcers: Kirk Herbstreit – ESPN/ABC
With Kirk Herbstreit hatred, it’s more about the anti-SEC perception (which is actually kind of off-base) than anything else. Fans are convinced that because Herbie played at Ohio State and more often than not, stumps for them when he can, that he thinks the SEC is overrated.
It’s all about seeing what you want. Herbstreit defends the SEC and certain teams more often than not.

Kirk Herbstreit bothers me. Hate to call him a Buckeye. He has one of the biggest voices in CFB, and he uses to promote SEC football. You will never ever see him stand up for OSU or its players.

Never stood up for Meyer, this year 12-1 team, or Haskins.
But when he does come out and say something negative about the league or one of its members … oh, lawdy.

Either way, SEC football fans love to whine about how Herbstreit shows them no love and how he’ll always lean towards Ohio State no matter what. He is their small dose of weekly kryptonite, and the love-hate relationship will likely continue for many years.
