Disliked SEC football announcers: Gary Danielson – CBS

While CBS has had some questionable personalities calling SEC games over the years (Rick Neuheisel, Carter Blackburn, Craig Bolerjack, among others) nobody quite sticks in the craw of an SEC football fan the way Gary Danielson does.

For many SEC fans, Danielson represents everything SEC fans hate — born in Michigan, schooled at Purdue, and NFL’d in Cleveland and Detroit — and his raspy tenor voice just gives them even more to dislike.

The wondrous thing about Danielson is that it’s not even about him disliking or knocking the SEC. For a midwest guy, he’s as big a conference homer as you’ll find. But no matter which team you’re rooting for, Danielson is biased the other way.

If you listen to SEC fans, Gary Danielson hates EVERYONE.

He even found a way to alienate the fans of both teams in an SEC Championship game once.

It’s pretty clear, when it comes to college football announcers, nobody gets the goat and draws the ire of SEC football fans quite like Gary Dennis Danielson.
