5-star CB Jahlil Hurley commits to Alabama Football
An in-state product from Florence High School in Florence, AL, Hurley as mentioned previously is rated as a five-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite where he is ranked as the No. 22 overall player in the country for the Class of 2023, as well as the No. 4 cornerback nationally.
Also the No. 4 overall player in the state of Alabama, Hurley was a Class 7A First Team All-State selection at the defensive back position as a junior last season, as well as a 7A Second Team All-State selection as a sophomore in 2020. While likely a cornerback in college, Hurley has seen time on both sides of the ball the past two seasons at Florence, primarily seeing time at wide receiver on offense.
In addition to the Crimson Tide, Hurley also held offers and interest from multiple other SEC schools such as Auburn, Georgia, and Texas A&M, as well as Michigan.
A bigger corner at 6-foot-2, not only is Hurley the second commit for Alabama Football’s 2023 class overall, but the five-star is also the Crimson Tide’s second defensive back commit as well, joining Venice (FL) four-star safety Elliot Washington who announced his commitment last month.
Entering the day on Tuesday, Alabama’s 2023 class was ranked at No. 38 nationally, as well as No. 9 in the SEC according to the 247Sports Team Rankings. Now having picked up their second commit in a big way by adding the SEC’s first five-star overall for the Class of 2023, the Crimson Tide’s 2023 defensive back class is certainly shaping-up to be a special one.
