SEC Basketball fans, the calendar has officially flipped to March, meaning that the “Madness” is right around the corner. Before we get there however, there are still a few things within the conference to be decided this week.

With the SEC Basketball Tournament set to begin next week, as well as Selection Sunday drawing near, each game/result across the next two weeks is vital to teams within the conference as they try to put the finishing touches on their NCAA Tournament resume.

While seeding for the NCAA Tournament could potentially change between now and Selection Sunday based on the results over the next two weeks, where do SEC Basketball teams stand right now?

What are the SEC Basketball teams current seeds for the NCAA Tournament?

According to the latest Bracketology update from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, the SEC is currently projected to have six teams in the NCAA Tournament, as well as one team currently sitting just outside on the bubble. Which team currently sits where, and how high/low could they move in the next two weeks?

2 – Auburn and Kentucky

It seems likely that both the Tigers and Wildcats will eventually end up with either a one-or-two seed, with a one-seed likely if either team wins the SEC Tournament. Even if neither win the SEC Tournament though, both Auburn and Kentucky have impressive resumes, and the only way they potentially fall off the two-line is if they go 0-3 over the next two weeks.

3 – Tennessee

Tennessee currently sits firmly on the three-line according to the Lunardi, and could potentially move up to a two if they make a deep run in the SEC Tournament. Ranked as No. 8 in the NET Rankings, it seems likely that lowest the Volunteers are is a three.

5 – Alabama and Arkansas

Both Alabama and Arkansas are current five-seeds, with both potentially moving up across the next two weeks depending on how far they go in the SEC Tournament. Ranked back-to-back in the NET Rankings at 22-23, the Crimson Tide have arguably the more-impressive resume of the two, but it seems likely that these two teams will be anywhere from a four-to-six seed.

6 – LSU

When looking at the NET Rankings as well, the Tigers are actually ranked ahead of both the Crimson Tide and Razorbacks at No. 16. However, it seems that LSU will end up with either a five-or-six seed, depending on their run in the SEC Tournament.

On The Bubble – Florida

Florida currents sits in the “Next Four Out” category according to Lunardi, but still have opportunities ahead of them. As for what the Gators must do to feel comfortable going into Selection Sunday, Florida must win Tuesday night’s game at Vanderbilt, as well as win Saturday at home against Kentucky along with at-least two wins in the SEC Tournament.
