One of the top overall high school basketball prospects in the entire country has officially released his Top 6, a list that included two teams from the SEC.

Auburn, South Carolina included in Top 6 for five-star power forward GG Jackson

GG Jackson, a five-star power forward from the Class of 2023, released a list of his Top 6 schools on Friday afternoon, a list that included two SEC schools in Auburn and South Carolina. In addition to the Tigers and Gamecocks, non-SEC schools in Duke, Georgetown, and North Carolina were also included, as well as the NBA G-League.

As mentioned previously, the five-star power forward is one of the nation’s top overall players, currently rated as the No. 8 overall player nationally for the Class of 2023 according to the 247Sports Composite. Attending Ridge View High School in Columbia, SC, Jackson is also rated as the No. 3 power forward nationally, as well as the No. 1 overall player in the state of South Carolina.

A prospect to watch for in the coming weeks, Jackson would undoubtedly be a massive addition to any team that lands the talented five-star. As for an example of the impact that Jackson can have on the court, look no further than his 14 point, 11 rebound, and 4 block showing on Thursday to help Ridge View claim the state championship.

Despite being recently offered by Auburn back in January, some currently see Jackson eventually deciding between the trio of Duke, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with the hometown Gamecocks potentially emerging as the favorite at the moment.

With a decision potentially happening in the coming weeks, there is no denying that Jackson is one of the biggest names to watch for among SEC basketball recruiting targets. Will an SEC program in Auburn or South Carolina land the five-star forward?
