QB Walker Howard – LSU Tigers

For an LSU team that has brought in numerous new names under new head coach Brian Kelly, a group that most-recently includes former Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels, Howard is the name to watch for in what should-be an intriguing quarterback position battle.

A long-time LSU commit from in-state St. Thomas More High School, the 6-foot-1 Howard was one of the top rated quarterbacks in the 2022 class, and comes to Baton Rouge as a four-star recruit and Top 50 national player. A quarterback who threw for an impressive 3,430 yards and 42 touchdowns as a junior back in 2020, a majority of the eyes may be on Brennan and Daniels for the starting job this spring, but don’t forget about Howard either.

OT Percy Lewis – Mississippi State Bulldogs

While not necessarily a freshman, Lewis comes to Mississippi State from the junior college ranks, and is one of the Bulldogs early enrollees that could potentially make the biggest on-field impact in 2022.

A former high school standout from the state of Mississippi, Lewis comes to Starkville from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and was rated as the No. 5 overall JUCO prospect from the 2022 class, as well as the No. 2 JUCO offensive tackle nationally. While another JUCO prospect in DeCarlos Nicholson, as well as four-star Jacarius Clayton, could garner some attention, the 6-foot-8, 360 pound Lewis is the name to watch for as a potential impact player along Mississippi State’s offensive line in 2022.
