Currently owning the SEC’s No. 7 ranked 2022 class, Auburn Basketball enters the offseason still linked to some of the nation’s top uncommitted recruits. Could the Tigers potentially land some of the top names available, one of which was a former LSU commit?

Could Auburn Basketball land former five-star LSU commit Yohan Traore?

Since LSU parted ways with former head coach Will Wade before the NCAA Tournament began, there have been a few notable recruits who have decommitted from the Tigers over the past one-to-two weeks. Among those names is five-star center Yohan Traore, a Top 20 player nationally who is already focusing in on a decision.

The nation’s No. 15 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite, Traore as mentioned previously is a five-star prospect, one who is also rated as the No. 4 center in the country for the Class of 2022. Attending Dream City Christian, Traore is also considered as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Arizona, as well as one of the top uncommitted prospects in the entire 2022 class.

Having originally committed to LSU back in late-January, Traore as mentioned previously decommitted from the Tigers back on March 22, and is already nearing a decision, one that could come in the very near future.

Among the options that Traore is reportedly down to, Auburn is one of the four finalists, alongside Gonzaga, Michigan, and Texas Tech. At 6-foot-10 and 225 pounds, Traore would undoubtedly be a massive addition to any of those four programs, but there is no denying the impact that he would have alongside the Tigers talented returning backcourt of Johnson, Green, and more.

Next. Auburn's way-too-early 2022-23 roster outlook. dark

With Auburn Basketball likely set to lose star freshman Jabari Smith, as well as potentially SEC Defensive Player of the Year Walker Kessler to the NBA, adding Traore would obviously be a significant addition to the 2022-23 roster, one that would allow the Tigers frontcourt to not skip a beat. Will the Tigers land the talented five-star in the near future?
