SEC Golf: 4 names to watch for during the 2022 Masters Tournament

One of the nation’s premier annual sporting events, the 86th Masters Tournament will begin on Thursday from Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA. Among the names playing in this years tournament, which former SEC Golf standouts should you be watching for this weekend?

4 former SEC Golf standouts to watch for during the 2022 Masters Tournament

Justin Thomas

A former star golfer at Alabama, Thomas is actually among the favorites to win the Masters going into this weekend. Chasing his first green jacket, the one-time major champion is set to tee-off for his first round on Thursday morning at 10:45 am ET, followed by a second round tee-time on Friday at 1:52 pm ET.

Bubba Watson 

A former Georgia golfer and two-time Masters champion (2012, 2014), Watson is arguably the most-accomplished former SEC Golf star to watch for this weekend. Watson is set to tee-off on Thursday afternoon at 12:35 pm ET for the first round, with his second round set to begin on Friday morning at 9:17 am ET.

(NOTE: Another former Georgia golfer, Harris English, will not be playing after withdrawing from the tournament)

Billy Horschel

An accomplished golfer at Florida, Horschel will also be chasing his first green jacket this weekend in Augusta, as well as his first major championship. Beginning his first round on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 pm ET, Horschel will also be among the first groups to tee-off early on Friday morning when his second round begins at 10:12 am ET.

Ryan Palmer

The final name from the SEC to watch for this weekend is Palmer who played his collegiate golf at Texas A&M. Also chasing his first green jacket and major championship, Palmer’s first round will begin early on Thursday morning at 8:44 am ET, followed by a second round on Friday beginning at 11:51 am ET.
