Coming off a national championship, all eyes will certainly be on Athens, GA on Saturday afternoon when Georgia Football takes the field for “G-Day.” Which positions and players should you be watching for during the Bulldogs 2022 spring game?

5 positions to watch for during the 2022 Georgia Football spring game

Inside Linebacker

The Bulldogs will be tasked with replacing almost all of their inside linebacker production from last season in the trio of Nakobe Dean, Channing Tindall, and Quay Walker. As for the names set to replace that group in 2022, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Xavian Sorey, and Smael Mondon will be intriguing names to watch for on Saturday, along with freshman Jalon Walker.

Quarterback

While Georgia Football does return starting quarterback Stetson Bennett in 2022, the talk around the Bulldogs competition at the position will likely continue this season. Carson Beck and Brock Vandagriff will likely be competing for the backup job, while freshman Gunner Stockton is also a name to watch for.

Cornerback

The Bulldogs will return one of the SEC’s top corners in 2022 in Kelee Ringo, but will have to replace Derion Kendrick on the opposite side of the field. As for the names to watch for, sophomores Kamari Lassiter, Nyland Green, and Javon Bullard certainly stick out, as well as five-star freshman Daylen Everette.

Tight End

Tight end’s Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington will both return in 2022, but two other names at the position will be garnering the attention on Saturday. Former five-star recruit Arik Gilbert will likely be a big talking point going into G-Day, while freshman Oscar Delp will also take the field for the first time with the Bulldogs as well.

Punter

While punter may not be the most talked about position going into a spring game, Georgia will have to replace a long-time starter at the position in Jake Camarda. The No. 1 punter in the 2022 class Brett Thorson is likely the name to watch for to replace Camarda next season.
