Highest Upside – QB Ty Simpson

A name that has been on campus in Tuscaloosa since mid-December, you could certainly make an argument that Simpson is the No. 1 quarterback in the entire 2022 class.

A five-star prospect out of Westview High School in Tennessee, Simpson has been one of the biggest talking points coming out of the Crimson Tide’s spring practice, one that concluded with an impressive showing in Alabama’s “A-Day” game.

While the dual-threat quarterback will obviously not start for the Crimson Tide this season, Simpson will likely see occasional playing time in 2022 in a backup role. Looking at the 2023 season however, Simpson will certainly be in the competition for the starting job alongside Jalen Milroe, and it wouldn’t necessarily surprise anyone if he were to win that job.

A player with elite talent both throwing and running the ball, it simply feels like only a matter of time until Simpson is college football’s next superstar quarterback.

In addition to Simpson however, an excellent argument can also be made for Alexander and Campbell mentioned previously as the names with the highest upside. Don’t necessarily rule out a few other names from this loaded class either, especially this group of wide receivers.
