Arkansas Football: Razorbacks land 3-star QB Malachi Singleton
By Matt Melton
Looking ahead to the 2023 recruiting classes within the SEC, you will be hard to find a class better at the moment than what Arkansas Football has. Holding an SEC-high 11 commits, the Razorbacks added yet another big commitment on Monday afternoon when Arkansas landed three-star quarterback Malachi Singleton.
3-star QB Malachi Singleton commits to Arkansas Football
A three-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, Singleton is a fast-rising quarterback from the state of Georgia who attends North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, GA. The signal caller for one of Georgia’s top teams, Singleton is coming off a phenomenal 2021 junior season in which he completed 168-of-225 passes for 2,348 yards and 24 touchdowns with only three interceptions.
A phenomenal runner as well, the 6-foot-1 and 225 pounder also ran the ball a total of 160 times as a junior, accounting for a total of 1,037 yards and 25 scores on the ground. Having started each of the last two seasons at North Cobb, Singleton has thrown for a total of 3,967 yards with a 39:9 TD:INT, as well as having rushed for 2,218 yards and 52 touchdowns.
Looking back at the rankings as well, Singleton is currently rated as the No. 438 overall player nationally, as well as the No. 24 quarterback nationally and the No. 40 player in the state of Georgia.
Commit No. 11 of the Razorbacks 2023 class so far, Singleton is obviously a massive addition for Arkansas Football. Joining tight ends Luke Hasz, Shamar Easter, and Jaden Hamm, the three-star is the fourth commitment on the offensive side of the ball at the skill positions, while the Razorbacks also hold commitments from two offensive lineman in Luke Brown and Joey Su’a.
A dual-threat quarterback that you could certainly say displays a similar skill-set to current Arkansas Football quarterback KJ Jefferson, could Singleton potentially make an impact for the Razorbacks as a freshman in 2023?
