It is no secret that numerous teams within SEC Basketball have been active in the transfer portal this offseason. With players from the conference’s 14 teams continuing to enter the portal on an everyday basis as well, who are the top five biggest names from SEC Basketball currently in the transfer portal?

Which SEC Basketball players are currently in the transfer portal?

Jermaine Cousinard 

Having averaged in double-figures each of the last three seasons at South Carolina, Couisnard you could certainly say is the top name from the conference in the portal at the moment. Starting in 16-of-26 games for the Gamecocks this past season, the 6-foot-4 guard averaged 12 PPG, 2.5 RPG, and 3.2 APG at South Carolina while shooting a career-high 32.3% from three.

Xavier Pinson

One of SEC Basketball’s top transfers within the conference last offseason, Pinson is one of the top point guards currently in the portal, as well as arguably the most-experienced at the position. LSU’s starting point guard during the 2021-22 season, Pinson is coming off a year in which he averaged 9.8 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 4.8 APG, and 1.9 SPG, with assists and steals both career-high’s.

Tyree Appleby 

A name that has averaged in double-figures the last two years at Florida, Appleby is yet another experienced point guard who is available in the portal. Starting in 27-of-34 games this past season, Appleby averaged 10.9 PPG, 2.1 RPG, and 3.7 APG for the Gators, while also shooting a career-high 84.8% from the free throw line.

Adam Miller

A former four-star prospect out of high school, Miller transferred to LSU last offseason, but missed the entirety of the 2021-22 season with an injury. Prior to last season, Miller averaged 8.3 PPG and 2.8 RPG as a starter at Illinois in 2020-21 as a freshman.

Efton Reid 

LSU’s third transfer on this list, Reid is a former five-star prospect out of high school who is one of the top transfer centers currently in the portal. Starting in all 34 games this past season for the Tigers, the freshman averaged 6.3 PPG and 4.3 RPG while shooting 51.9% from the field.
