SEC Basketball: Updated offseason power rankings for 2022-23 season

Now well over a month into the SEC Basketball offseason, the transfer portal continues to bring change day-by-day to each of the 14 teams within the conference. As we begin to look ahead to the summer months as well, how have those roster changes affected the 2022-23 SEC Basketball offseason power rankings?

14. South Carolina Gamecocks
Previous Ranking: 13
The Gamecocks have since added a few names to the mix, with arguably none bigger than Ohio State transfer guard Meechie Johnson who is a likely SEC Basketball breakout candidate next season. Four-year Coastal Carolina starter Ebrima Dibba will also play a significant role on the wing for South Carolina this season after transferring to the Gamecocks, as will Citadel transfer Hayden Brown who has averaged 18.8 PPG each of the last two years.

13. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Previous Ranking: 11
Mississippi State has since had almost all of their predicted 2022-23 starting lineup from the previous power rankings enter the transfer portal, with the lone exception being star forward Tolu Smith who recently announced he was returning to Starkville. The Bulldogs have also added a significant piece to the backcourt in Oregon State transfer Dashawn Davis who averaged 10.9 PPG, 3.1 RPG, and 5.5 APG last season, while also awaiting the draft decision from star guard Iverson Molinar.
