One of my bold predictions for 2022 is that Kentucky Wildcats starting quarterback Will Levis will become one of the most polarizing players in all of SEC Football. Some see a prospect that could not start at Penn State. Some see a prospect who is just now fully realizing his potential. Where do YOU stand? Check out our way-too-early scouting report on Will Levis.

Positives

Will Levis helped lead Kentucky to a surprising 2021 campaign and back into the National spotlight.

From all accounts surrounding the Kentucky program, Levis is one of the fiercest competitors and has developed into the leader of the Wildcats.

There is a ‘swagger’ to Levis that attracts teammates to him.

Levis has a strong arm that allows him to threaten defenses as he pierces the ball into tight windows.

Levis brings underrated versatility and scrambling ability to the quarterback position. Levis can be used as a runner near the goal-line and is adept at throwing on the run.

A one-year starter, Levis took off in 2021 and looked the part of a future NFL starting quarterback.

Negatives

How much has Levis benefited from the Wildcats’ offense? Kentucky makes life easy on the quarterback. Former Kentucky Offensive Coordinator Liam Coen is off to the NFL. You have to wonder how much of Levis’ success can be attributed to Coen’s play-calling? What will life be like under center in the post-Coen world?

Levis has questionable decision-making at times. A few back-breaking turnovers in 2021 need to be addressed if he wants to realize his full potential.

Levis needs to continue to work on his touch on his passes, especially on plays down the field.

Overall

Levis is an interesting case study. Levis took off last year in his first season under center for the Wildcats.

Questions linger as to why a talented player like Levis could not win the starting job at Penn State.

There is no question that Will Levis is a talent and that there is something to work with.

The problem is that Levis believes he can make every play, and that mentality can lead to his undoing with costly mistakes.
