Looking back at the last couple of months, Florida Football and new head coach Billy Napier have added multiple impact players through the transfer portal such as O’Cyrus Torrence, Jalen Kimber, Montrell Johnson, and more. A team that has likely added multiple instant starters, where are the Florida Football players who entered the transfer portal this offseason however set play in 2022?

Where are Florida Football’s offseason transfers playing in 2022?

Offense

  • QB Emory Jones – Arizona State
  • WR Jacob Copeland – Maryland
  • TE Kemore Gamble – UCF
  • OT Gerald Mincey – Tennessee
  • QB Carlos Del Rio-Wilson – Syracuse

Arguably the two most-notable offensive transfer was starting quarterback Emory Jones, who transferred to Arizona State during the offseason where the former four-star will likely compete for a starting job. Experienced pass catchers Jacob Copeland and Kemore Gamble will both likely play key roles at Maryland and UCF in 2022, while Carlos Del Rio-Wilson could be a name to watch for after transferring to Syracuse.

Defense

  • LB Mohamoud Diabate – Utah
  • EDGE Khris Bogle – Michigan State
  • LB Ty’Ron Hopper – Missouri
  • CB Elijah Blades – Buffalo
  • DL Lamar Goods – TBD

Likely the biggest overall name to transfer from Gainesville in the offseason was linebacker Mohamoud Diabate, who transferred to Florida Football’s week one opponent in 2022, defending Pac-12 champion Utah. Diabate is set to be a key piece of the Utes defense this upcoming season, as is edge rusher Khris Bogle who will do the same at Michigan State after transferring to the Spartans.

As for the other names, cornerback Elijah Blades could see a starting role at Buffalo in 2022, while linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper will likely play a significant role at Missouri after enjoying a breakout season with the Gators a year ago. Defensive lineman Lamar Goods has yet to announce where he will be transferring.
