Jerry Jeudy was a star receiver during his time at Alabama. The thought was that Jeudy would progress nicely at the NFL level. Following a promising rookie season, Jeudy had a rough second year as he missed the first half of the year with an injury. Here is a look at the past, present, and future of former SEC Football star Jerry Jeudy.

SEC Football Time Machine: Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy

PAST:

Jerry Jeudy was a household name for SEC Football fans. Jerry Jeudy was dominant during his final two seasons under Nick Saban. During his sophomore and junior seasons, Jeudy produced well over 1,000 yards receiving and double-digit touchdowns in back-to-back seasons.

Given his ability as a smooth route runner and separator, NFL Draft analysts speculated that Jerry Jeudy was as NFL-ready as any receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Sure enough, the Denver Broncos selected Jerry Jeudy with the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Coincidentally, Jeudy’s new teammate, Courtland Sutton, suffered a severe injury in the opener and was lost for the season. The Denver Broncos needed Jeudy to step up, and he did. Jeudy eclipsed 850 receiving yards and was targeted over 100 times, solidifying himself as a mainstay in the Broncos’ offense.

We anticipated a strong season from Jerry Jeudy in year two, and unfortunately, Jeudy received the same fate as Sutton the year prior and was injured in the 2021 opener. Jeudy returned in Week #8 but was never quite the same player he was in 2020.

PRESENT:

The most encouraging news in the off-season for the Denver Broncos was the acquisition of Russell Wilson. The Broncos’ quarterback situation has been a revolving door for quite some time, and they finally took the plunge to solidify the position.

The Wilson acquisition is fantastic news for Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy has been on the other end of Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater targets. Wilson is a HUGE upgrade.

FUTURE:

BUY! BUY! BUY! If there are football fans and analysts out there giving up on Jerry Jeudy, I believe they are mistaken! We have seen his performance on the field at the collegiate level and during his rookie season. Jeudy is receiving a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback to throw him the football. If Jerry Jeudy represented an NFL stock, I certainly would be buying a strong bounceback.
