3. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart

Coming into this season Jaxson Dart was ranked the third-best player in the transfer portal behind fellow quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Quinn Ewers.

In Dart’s freshman year at USC, he replaced an injured Kedon Slovis against Washington State and finished the game with 391 passing yards and 4 passing touchdowns.

Dart suffered an injury in his first start that would put him out for the next four games. But Slovis continued to struggle and Dart won the starting job once he returned.

He started the last five games of the season and would finish with 1,353 yards and 9 touchdowns for the season.

But with Clay Helton being fired, Lincoln Riley coming in, and Caleb Williams transferring, Dart needed to find a new home.

Ole Miss was in search of a quarterback of their own as Matt Corral left for the NFL. This made the Dart and Kiffin marriage seem like a no brainer.

Now Dart joins the SEC and replaces one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the nation and joins one of the most notable offensive minds in the game.

Expectations are high for Ole Miss. Especially with the 2nd ranked transfer class in the nation and Coach Kiffin proclaiming himself the “Portal King”.

Dart will need to adjust to SEC defenses and has even said that one of the reasons for choosing Ole Miss was the talent in the conference.

For Dart, he’ll have to make sure he beats out sophomore QB Luke Altmyer but it seems like he’ll have the job come fall.

He’ll want to prove that the hype is justified and that he can compete in the best conference in the nation.

Once he is handed the keys to the program, Dart will have to lead the Lane Train to a 10 win season or it will be considered a disappointment and could face a lot of criticism.
