Ty Simpson

The lone player at the position in Alabama Football’s 2022 recruiting class, Simpson enters his freshman season in Tuscaloosa as one of the SEC’s top freshman quarterbacks, one who is already beginning to draw a significant amount of hype.

A five-star prospect, Simpson comes to Alabama out of Westview High School in Tennessee where he was one of the top players in the state a year ago. An exciting dual-threat quarterback who was also rated among the top five players nationally at the position, Simpson received Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year honors as a senior, accounting for upwards of 3,500 total yards of offense with a 41:3 TD:INT.

An early-enrollee who impressed during the Crimson Tide’s “A-Day” spring game, Simpson will likely see occasional playing time during the 2022 season, which will likely come as the Crimson Tide’s QB3, similar to the time that Milroe saw a year ago.

Next. Alabama, South Carolina among June recruiting winners. dark

However, don’t necessarily count out the five-star potentially challenge Milroe for Alabama Football’s backup quarterback spot during fall camp either.
