4. 1996 QB Danny Wuerffel

Danny Wuerffel clocks in at number 4 on this list as he became the second Florida Gator to win the Heisman trophy in 1996.

Wuerffel’s 1996 season was a perfect ending to a storied college career for the Gators.

He led Florida to their first National Championship in a victory against rival, and No.1 ranked Florida State.

In that game, he threw for 306 yards and 3 touchdowns leading the Gators to a deciding 52-20 win.

For the season, Wuerffel threw for 3,931 yards and 39 passing touchdowns. He also added 3 rushing touchdowns.

He had five games where he threw 4 or more touchdowns, including a 6 touchdown game against No.11 ranked Alabama.

After his time at Florida, Wuerffel ended with 10,875 yards through the air and 144 passing touchdowns.

Bringing Florida their first National Championship and avenging their loss to Florida State earlier in that season gives Wuerffel a spot on this list.
