Zach Calzada

Auburn Football added two quarterbacks through the transfer portal this offseason, the first of which is arguably the more notable name of the two in Calzada.

Transferring from Texas A&M, Calzada comes to Auburn after starting in 10 games for the Aggies a year ago in what was his third season in College Station. Completing 56.3% of his passes during that span, Calzada also threw for a total of 2,185 yards at the helm of the Aggies offense, along with a 17:9 TD:INT.

A redshirt sophomore, Calzada did not see much time during the spring as he was recovering from an injury, but could easily win the starting job for the Tigers in fall camp. Even if he doesn’t win the job however and begins the year as the backup, Calzada could easily end up starting games for the Tigers at some point as well.

Overall, the Texas A&M transfer should see a significant amount of time for the Tigers in 2022, making Calzada a key name to know for Auburn Football entering the year.
