Robby Ashford

The second of those two transfers that the Tigers added at quarterback this offseason is Ashford, a former highly-touted in-state product who has spent the previous two seasons at Oregon.

A four-star prospect in the 2020 class, Ashford however did not see action in those two years with the Ducks on the football field, but did see time on the baseball field at Oregon. A player who impressed at times during the Tigers spring game, Ashford is arguably the sleeper name to watch for in Auburn’s quarterback competition this fall, and should see time this season, likely coming in a limited role should Finley or Calzada win the starting job.

Holden Geriner

The final name in the Auburn Football quarterback room that could see time in 2022 is Geriner, the lone player at the position in the Tigers 2022 recruiting class.

A four-star prospect, Geriner comes to Auburn off an impressive senior season, one in which he threw for 3,377 yards with a 36:3 TD:INT to help lead Benedictine (GA) to a state title. The freshman is likely fourth on the Tigers quarterback depth chart entering the fall however, and should Geriner see time in 2022, it would likely come in a limited role.
