The primary backup quarterback for the Gators in 2022 will likely be Miller, a former four-star prospect who transferred to Florida from Ohio State during the offseason.

Also a redshirt sophomore, Miller has seen limited action across the past two seasons with the Buckeyes, appearing in a total of six games. Having rushed for a touchdown in 2020 as a true freshman, Miller however did not attempt a pass until the 2021 season, a year in which he completed 7-of-14 attempts for 101 yards.

A player who has sat behind both Justin Fields and CJ Stroud on the depth chart the last two years, it seems likely that Miller will do the same in 2022 behind Richardson. However, should Richardson choose to depart for the NFL at the conclusion of this season, Miller could potentially be in line to start for the Gators in 2023 as a redshirt junior.

Looking at this season however, Miller enters 2022 as Florida Football’s QB2, one who should see a notable amount of time. Should Richardson possibly struggle as well, could the Ohio State transfer potentially even start games for the Gators in 2022?
