After leading the Bulldogs to a national championship a year ago, there is no doubt as to whom the starting quarterback is for Georgia Football entering 2022. A quarterback room that includes multiple talented backups as well, which names could see time at the position for the Bulldogs in 2022?

Georgia Football 2022 Season Preview: Quarterbacks

Stetson Bennett

A player who has started numerous games for Georgia Football the past two seasons, Bennett returns for the 2022 season likely cemented as the Bulldogs starter entering the year for the first time in his collegiate career.

After beginning last season as the backup to JT Daniels, Bennett emerged as the Bulldogs starter mid-way through the year, and would not look back to the tune of a career-year under center in Athens. Completing 64.5% of his passes, Bennett would throw for a total of 2,862 yards with a 29:7 TD:INT at the head of the Georgia offense, while also rushing for 259 yards and a score.

An experienced quarterback with a national championship now on his resume, Bennett took key strides in his game a year ago, most notably when it came to cutting down turnovers. With many of his top receiving options returning in 2022 as well, expect Bennett to once again take similar strides this season.

Bennett should remain as the Bulldogs starting quarterback in 2022, assuming that the senior continues the success that he saw a year ago. The pressure on Bennett to perform however will likely not go away either, as Georgia once again has a few talented backups sitting behind the senior.
