Georgia Football 2022 Season Preview: Quarterbacks
By Matt Melton
Carson Beck
When looking at those backups, there is likely a competition for the Bulldogs QB2 during the fall, with arguably the leader in that conversation being Beck.
A redshirt sophomore, Beck appeared in a total of three games a year ago for the Bulldogs, completing 10-of-23 attempts for a total of 176 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Beck also ran the ball occasionally when on the field, rushing for a total of 15 yards on five carries.
A former four-star prospect in the 2020 class, Beck has sat behind both Bennett and Daniels on the depth chart each of the past two seasons, and will likely do the same in 2022 with Bennett returning to Athens. However, for a player coming off an impressive spring game performance, Beck could easily be the Bulldogs primary backup in 2022, assuming he is able to win the job during fall camp.
Expect Beck to likely see a slight uptick in production this season compared to a year ago as well, assuming the redshirt sophomore is the Bulldogs QB2.
