Georgia Football 2022 Season Preview: Quarterbacks
By Matt Melton
Brock Vandagriff
The other name to watch for alongside Beck that could potentially be the Bulldogs primary backup in 2022 is Vandagriff, a former five-star prospect in the 2021 class.
A redshirt freshman, Vandagriff did see limited action a year ago during year one in Athens, but did not record any stats during that span. The former five-star should see time in 2022 however, but it will likely come in a limited role once again as Georgia’s potential QB3 on the depth chart, assuming Beck is the Bulldogs primary backup entering the season.
Gunner Stockton
The final name in Georgia Football’s quarterback room that could potentially see time in 2022 is Stockton, a true freshman out of in-state Rabun County High School.
A four-star prospect, Stockton comes to Athens as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in Georgia high school football history, a career that included a phenomenal 2021 senior season in which he threw for 4,134 yards with a 55:1 TD:INT. Stockton has all the makings of a future starter at the position for the Bulldogs, but will likely see limited time this season due to the depth of the 2022 Georgia Football quarterback room.
