SEC Football: Ranking the top five games since the 2017 season
No. 1: 2017-18 National Championship Game
Much like the game that came in at number two on this list, Alabama found success with their backup quarterback.
After a scoreless first quarter, Georgia mustered up 13 points by the end of the half and shut out the Crimson Tide offense.
At that point, Head Coach Nick Saban knew it was time for a change and inserted backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in for Jalen Hurts.
The move paid off as Alabama outscored Georgia 20-7 in the second half to force overtime.
And the Tide would go on to win in dramatic fashion with a walk-off touchdown on 2nd and 26.
Tagovailoa was named offensive player of the game and the modern edition of the Georgia-Alabama rivalry was born.
Since this game, they have had 3 more top-5 matchups including two SEC Championship games and another National Championship clash.
While all have been competitive and two are included on this list. This sticks out as the best one of the bunch.
