SEC Football: Georgia, LSU among biggest July recruiting winners

As mentioned previously, Alabama has since taken over SEC Football’s top 2023 class during August, carrying over what was an impressive month for the Crimson Tide on the recruiting trail. The Crimson Tide landed a total of 10 commitments during July, a group headlined by two five-star’s in safety Caleb Downs and running back Richard Young, as well as the nation’s No. 1 overall JUCO player in four-star wide receiver Malik Benson.

Florida added the current top six commits of their 2023 class during the month of July, as well as seven of their eight commits during the month coming from in-state. The arguable headline name of this group was four-star wide receiver Aidan Mizell from in-state Boone High School, while the Gators also landed a quarterback in four-star Marcus Stokes, a former Penn State commit.

The Volunteers added two members of their 2024 class during July, a duo that included the biggest name to commit to Tennessee across the last month in five-star athlete Jonathan Echols. Tennessee also added two other highly-rated four-star’s in edge rusher Chandavian Bradley and athlete Cameron Seldon.
