Jarquez Hunter

Coming off a strong freshman campaign a year ago, Hunter enters his sophomore season with the Tigers as one of the top RB2’s in the SEC.

A three-star prospect in the Tigers 2021 class, Hunter saw a notable amount of action a year ago, rushing for 593 yards and three touchdowns on 89 attempts, averaging 6.7 YPC which ranked No. 2 in the SEC. That was not the only area where Hunter made an impact however as the freshman also returned 10 kickoffs, as well as caught 12 passes for 61 yards and a score.

Looking ahead to 2022 as well, Hunter enters the season behind Bigsby on the Tigers depth chart once again. Even despite that however, Hunter is likely set to see a significant amount of action this season in numerous different roles that include the rushing and receiving game, as well as special teams.

Expect another strong season from Hunter this fall, one in which the sophomore likely sees a similar work load in the Tigers backfield.
