SEC Football: Top 25 transfer additions of the 2022 offseason
By Matt Melton
SEC Football was as active as any conference across college football this offseason when it came to the transfer portal, with multiple teams landing names that should make a key impact as early as this season. Taking a wide look at the offseason overall however, who were some of the biggest names to transfer to SEC Football programs, and what potential role could each play going forward?
Top 25 SEC Football transfer additions of the 2022 offseason
25. S Latavious Brini – Arkansas Razorbacks
After four seasons at Georgia from 2018-21, Brini transferred to Arkansas during the offseason where the senior could play a key role in the secondary. Brini could very well start for the Razorbacks at safety this season, and could be set for a career-year in Fayetteville.
24. OL Kamryn Waites – Florida Gators
Waites saw time a year ago at Louisiana as a freshman, and transferred to Florida during the offseason. The 6-foot-7, 373 pound redshirt freshman could play a role in the Gators offensive front this season, and is certainly a name to watch for in Gainesville going forward.
23. CB Dwight McGlothern – Arkansas Razorbacks
A former four-star prospect in the 2020 class, McGlothern comes to Arkansas from LSU where he collected a combined 41 tackles across the last two seasons with the Tigers. The junior could be a key name in the Razorbacks secondary this season, potentially coming in a starting role.
22. CB Greg Brooks Jr – LSU Tigers
Brooks comes to LSU from Arkansas where he has collected a combined 111 tackles and four interceptions across the last three seasons. The senior is likely to start for the Tigers at cornerback this season as part of an experienced LSU secondary.
21. WR Jaylon Robinson – Ole Miss Rebels
An experienced wide receiver, Robinson comes to Ole Miss with a career stat line of 76 receptions for 1,329 yards and eight touchdowns from 2018-21 between Oklahoma and UCF. The UCF transfer should be one of the top producers in the Rebels wide receiver room this fall, a year in which Robinson could even potentially rival his 2020 season that saw him as one of the top wideouts in the AAC.
