A two-year starter at quarterback from 2011-12 who helped lead the Commodores to one of the best seasons in recent program history, here is a look back at the Vanderbilt Football career of Jordan Rodgers.
Looking back at the Vanderbilt Football career of Jordan Rodgers
A three-star prospect, Rodgers would originally commit to Vanderbilt in the Commodores 2010 class out of the JUCO ranks where he attended Butte College in California. After enrolling at Vanderbilt, the on-field debut for Rodgers with the Commodores would have to wait a year however as the JUCO product would redshirt the 2010 season, in part due to an injury.
Rodgers would go on to begin the 2011 season as the Commodores backup quarterback, and would takeover as the starter later in the year in what was his first in-game action at the SEC level. A redshirt junior, Rodgers would throw for 1,524 yards with a 9:10 TD:INT during the 2011 season, while also making an impact on the ground where he rushed for 420 yards and four touchdowns on 117 attempts.
Rodgers would remain as the Vanderbilt starter as a redshirt senior, and would post a memorable 2012 season, one that is one of the best in recent Commodores history among quarterbacks. Included in that 2012 season was a 59.9 CMP% with 2,539 yards passing and a 15:5 TD:INT, as well as two more scores on the ground to help lead Vanderbilt to a 9-4 record in what was one of the best single-seasons in recent program history.
Combined across his two seasons with Vanderbilt Football from 2011-12, Rodgers would complete 55.9% of his passes for 4,063 yards, along with a 24:15 TD:INT, while also rushing for a combined 491 yards and six touchdowns as well.
At the conclusion of his collegiate career, Rodgers would go undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, and would last play professionally back in 2015.
