Defensive Line

Starter: Eric Gregory, Isaiah Nichols, Zach Williams

Backup: Landon Jackson, Taurean Carter, Jordan Domineck

Gregory is an experienced name returning along the defensive line having collected 25+ tackles each of the last two seasons, while Nichols and Williams are both experienced as well. Domineck is an experienced transfer from Georgia Tech that could play a key role, while Jackson, a former four-star prospect, could be set for a breakout 2022 campaign after transferring from LSU.

Linebacker

Starter: Bumper Pool, Drew Sanders

Backup: Jackson Woodard, Chris Paul Jr/Marco Avant

The linebacker position should once again be a strength for the Razorbacks this season as Pool returns, while Sanders, a former five-star prospect who transferred from Alabama, is likely set for a breakout 2022 season.

Cornerback

Starter: LaDarrius Bishop/Dwight McGlothern, Hudson Clark

Backup: LaDarrius Bishop/Dwight McGlothern, Malik Chavis

Arkansas Football could use any combination of these four this season as the starting corners, with McGlothern as the lone new name to this group after transferring from LSU in the offseason.

Safety

Starter: Latavious Brini, Jalen Catalon, Myles Slusher

Backup: Simeon Blair, Khari Johnson, Jacorrei Turner

The safety position will be a strength for the Arkansas defense in 2022, a group that returns two key names in Catalon and Slusher, while also having added Brini, a redshirt senior who transferred from Georgia.

Nickel

Starter: Jayden Johnson

Backup: Jaylen Lewis
