As we approach the start of the 2022 SEC Football season, we now know where each team will be ranked as the preseason AP Poll Top 25 has now been officially released.

Where each SEC Football team stands in the 2022 preseason AP Poll

In all, the SEC has a total of six teams ranked in the preseason AP Poll Top 25, a group headlined by defending conference champion Alabama at No. 1 overall. Not far behind the Crimson Tide however are two other SEC teams ranked within the Top 10, with defending national champion Georgia coming in at No. 3, while Texas A&M begins the year ranked at No. 6.

In addition to that, the SEC’s three teams ranked in the preseason Top 10 are the most of any conference, with both the Big Ten (Ohio State at No. 2, Michigan at No. 8) and Big 12 (Oklahoma at No. 9, Baylor at No. 10) ranking second with two teams each.

As for the remainder of the Top 25, three other SEC teams begin the year ranked within the AP Poll in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. The Razorbacks, Wildcats, and Rebels are not that far apart at all however as all three are ranked No. 19, No. 20, and No. 21.

In addition to those six, a total of six other teams from within the conference also received votes in the preseason Top 25. Of those six teams, Tennessee received the most overall votes of any team not ranked, while others such as LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina also received votes.
