Jase McClellan

Alabama has two other notable names returning in 2022 at the running back position, the first of which is McClellan, the other of those two names in the RB2 conversation.

The junior has seen time with the Crimson Tide each of the past two seasons, rushing for a combined 436 yards and three touchdowns on 63 attempts, while also catching three touchdown passes a year ago before suffering an injury. A former highly rated four-star prospect in the 2020 class, McClellan will likely see a significant number of carries this season for the Crimson Tide, while also being one of Alabama’s top pass catching options at the running back position.

Roydell Williams

Williams is another key name returning for the Crimson Tide this season at the running back position, one who is also coming off an injury a year ago.

The junior has also seen time with the Crimson Tide each of the past two seasons, rushing for a combined 355 yards and two touchdowns on 67 attempts during that span, while also making an impact as a pass catcher a year ago. Williams is also likely set for a significant number of carries as a junior, and is still undoubtedly a name to know entering the season, even despite likely being fourth on Alabama’s running back depth chart.
