Quarterback

Starter: TJ Finley/Zach Calzada

Backup: TJ Finley/Zach Calzada

Either Finley or Calzada will likely begin the year as the Tigers starter at quarterback, with the potential that both could eventually start games at times this season. Finley is the lone returning name in Auburn’s quarterback room from last season, while Calzada transferred from Texas A&M during the offseason.

Running Back

Starter: Tank Bigsby

Backup: Jarquez Hunter

Auburn Football could have one of the SEC’s top one-two punches at running back this season in Bigsby and Hunter, a duo that combined for over 1,500+ yards and 13 touchdowns a year ago.

Wide Receiver

Starter: Shedrick Jackson, Malcolm Johnson Jr, Ja’Varrius Johnson

Backup: Ze’Vian Capers, Koy Moore/Landen King, Tar’Varish Dawson Jr/Dazalin Worsham

Coming off a season in which he had 40 receptions for 527 yards and a touchdown, Jackson will be Auburn’s top wide receiver entering the year. Johnson Jr and Capers could also play key roles for the Tigers in 2022 as potential breakout candidates, while the same could be said for transfers Moore and Worsham.

Tight End

Starter: John Samuel Shenker

Backup: Luke Deal/Tyler Fromm

Tight end will be a strength for Auburn Football once again as the Tigers return almost all of their production from last season, a group led by one of the SEC’s top tight ends in Shenker.

Offensive Line

Starter: Kilian Zierer, Brandon Council, Nick Brahms, Keiondre Jones, Alec Jackson

Backup: Austin Troxwell, Kameron Stutts, Jalil Irvin, Tate Johnson, Brenden Coffey

The Tigers offensive line will be anchored by Brahms, a senior and multi-year starter at center who is one of the most experienced returning offensive lineman in the SEC this season.
