As Georgia Football prepares to defend their national championship this fall, the Bulldogs will have to do so without numerous key pieces off that same title winning team from a year ago. Tasked with replacing those names, who are some potential breakout candidates to watch for this season at some of those same positions? (NOTE: This list does not include true freshmen)

3 Georgia Football players set to breakout during 2022 season

Jamon Dumas-Johnson

2021 Stats: 21 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 PD

Along with time on special teams, Dumas-Johnson primarily played a reserve role for the Bulldogs at linebacker last season, but still collected a combined 21 tackles in what was his first collegiate action. A former four-star prospect in the 2021 class, Dumas-Johnson is likely set to begin the year as one of two starters at inside linebacker for the Bulldogs, and should be set for a massive 2022 season in Athens.

Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins

2021 Stats: 2 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PD

If you were looking for a name set to breakout in a big way along Georgia Football’s defensive line, look no further than Ingram-Dawkins. Also a former four-star prospect in the 2021 class, Ingram-Dawkins could very well start for the Bulldogs this season on the defensive line after the redshirt freshman appeared in only one game a year ago.

William Poole

2021 Stats: 14 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 4 PD

A sixth-year senior, Poole collected a career-high 14 tackles for the Bulldogs a year ago, and is likely set to surpass that total in a big way this fall. The senior is likely a starter in the Georgia secondary entering the year, and is a name to watch for at both the safety and star positions.

In addition to Dumas-Johnson, Ingram-Dawkins, and Poole, Georgia Football also has a few other names to watch for this season as potential breakout candidates. Here are a few of those names: ILB Smael Mondon Jr, CB Kamari Lassiter, OL Amarius Mims
