AJ Swann

Another name that could potentially see a notable amount of time this season for Vanderbilt is that of Swann, one of the highest-ranked recruits in the Commodores 2022 recruiting class.

A four-star prospect, Swann comes to Vanderbilt out of Cherokee High School in Georgia where he threw for a combined 6,591 yards with a 63:19 TD:INT from 2019-21. The freshman could be a primary backup option at quarterback for the Commodores this season, with Swann likely seeing time this season for Vanderbilt in a limited role.

Drew Dickey

In addition to Swann, Vanderbilt also added two other quarterbacks in their 2022 class, the first of which is Dickey.

Dickey comes to Nashville as a three-star prospect out of Regents School in Texas where he had a memorable 2021 senior season, throwing for 2,308 yards and 35 touchdowns, while also rushing for 17 more. Should Dickey see time with the Commodores this season, it would however likely come in a limited role.

Walter Taylor

The third true freshman quarterback on Vanderbilt Football’s roster is Taylor, likely the final name to know for the Commodores at the position this season.

Taylor comes to Vanderbilt as a three-star prospect in the 2022 class out of Jackson High School in Alabama where he is also coming off a strong 2021 campaign throwing for 3,405 yards and 40 touchdowns as a senior. One of the bigger quarterbacks on Vanderbilt’s roster at 6-foot-6, Taylor could potentially see limited action in 2022 as a true freshman.
