Smael Mondon Jr

As for the starter alongside Dumas-Johnson at inside linebacker, Georgia Football has a few names that could play that role this season, arguably the biggest of which is Mondon.

Also a sophomore, Mondon also saw a significant amount of time with the Bulldogs a year ago, coming in a special teams/reserve role similar to Dumas-Johnson. During that time, Mondon collected a combined 10 tackles for the Bulldogs defense, along with one TFL and one sack.

A former five-star prospect in the 2021 class, Mondon is yet another name on the Georgia defense that could be set to breakout this season. As for if that breakout could happen, the sophomore is likely the favorite to start for the Bulldogs alongside Dumas-Johnson this season, meaning it is certainly a real possibility.

As mentioned previously however, there are a few other names that could also play that role this season in addition to Mondon.
