The second half of that Arkansas running back duo is Johnson, a junior who is coming off a 2021 season which was very similar to that of Sanders.

After not recording any stats as a freshman in 2020, Johnson enjoyed a breakout 2021 campaign, rushing for a combined 575 yards and seven touchdowns on 97 attempts. Ranking seventh in the SEC with a 5.9 YPC, Johnson also made an impact in the receiving game, catching seven passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.

When it comes to the potential workload that Johnson will receive in 2022, you could say the same exact thing for Johnson as you do for Sanders. The junior will once again approach, if not eclipse, the 100-carry mark this season, with Johnson likely set to post career-high’s in both yards and touchdowns as well.

Expect both Johnson and Sanders to be key names for the Arkansas offense in 2022, with both likely set for strong seasons in Fayetteville.
