SEC Football: Preseason predictions for the 2022 season
By Matt Melton
SEC Offensive & Defensive Player of the Year
Who do we think will be named the 2022 SEC Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year at seasons end?
Matt Melton – Bryce Young (Alabama) & Will Anderson Jr (Alabama)
Could they go back-to-back? Both Young and Anderson were named the SEC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year last season, and with both expected to be in Heisman contention once again, it’s very possible that these two go back-to-back with the awards in 2022.
Patrick Previty – Will Levis (Kentucky) & Jordan Battle (Alabama)
It’s uncommon that Offensive Player of the Year goes to the same player, but you never know. It’s a QB and RB dominated award so I’m going to go with Will Levis here.
Same with Offensive Player of the Year, it’s rare to see a two-time winner, but I’m going to keep this prediction within the Crimson Tide. Strong safety Jordan Battle returns after being First Team All-SEC last season. He’ll have a good shot at it.
