Week one of the 2022 SEC Football season concludes on Sunday night as LSU takes on Florida State to officially begin the Kelly era in Baton Rouge.

As mentioned previously, LSU begins a new era Sunday night as the Tigers enter year one under new head coach Brian Kelly, who comes to Baton Rouge after 12 successful seasons at Notre Dame (113-40 combined record). Kelly will be looking to get LSU back on their winning ways as the Tigers are coming off a 6-7 season a year ago, and are only three years removed from a perfect 15-0 national championship winning campaign.

The Tigers will be led by either Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels or Garrett Nussmeier at quarterback, while the LSU offense will feature one of SEC Football’s top wide receivers in Kayshon Boutte. Defensively, LSU will also feature a few key transfers such as Joe Foucha and Greg Brooks Jr, along with a defensive front featuring Maason Smith.

Florida State on the other hand opened their 2022 season a week ago as the Seminoles defeated Duquesne at home 47-7. This was an overall dominating performance for the Seminoles as Florida State out-gained Duquesne 638-164 in total yardage, while also rushing for a total of six touchdowns on the ground.

Leading the Seminoles offense is quarterback Jordan Travis, while that impressive Florida State run game from last week was led by the trio of Treshaun Ward, Lawrance Toafili, and Trey Benson. As mentioned previously as well, the Seminoles were dominant on defense a week ago, but the step up from Duquesne to LSU will certainly be a significant one on Sunday night.
