10. LSU Tigers

Previous Ranking: 8

LSU was the most notable team to fall in the power rankings this week as the Tigers were the lone SEC Football team to lose in week one. Playing on Sunday night in New Orleans, the Tigers fell to Florida State 24-23, a game in which LSU led only once, but did have a chance to force overtime at the end of regulation before the Seminoles blocked a game-tying extra point.

The Tigers however will have a strong chance to pickup their first win of the 2022 season in week two as LSU will host Southern. LSU will be a massive favorite playing at home, and should win by multiple touchdowns.

9. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 9

Mississippi State began their 2022 season on a winning note as the Bulldogs topped Memphis 49-23, out-gaining the Tigers in total yardage 547-294. Of that yardage total, 450 yards came through the passing game, led by quarterback Will Rogers who threw for five touchdowns with an interception.

As for week two, the Bulldogs will now travel for the first time this season as Mississippi State is set to take on Arizona this Saturday night. Despite being on the road, this is a game that Mississippi State should win, and will be likely be favored in going into Saturday.
