8. Florida Gators

Previous Ranking: 10

Florida was undoubtedly the biggest riser of the week as the Gators picked up one of SEC Football’s biggest wins, upsetting No. 7 Utah 29-26 at home. While there are obviously numerous things to talk about from the Gators win, arguably the biggest takeaway was the performance of quarterback Anthony Richardson, who rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on 11 attempts.

Up next for the Gators is yet another big matchup as Florida will begin SEC Football play in week two with a home showdown against Kentucky. Should they beat the Utes and Wildcats in back-to-back weeks, is it possible that Florida potentially finds themselves in the top five of the power rankings next week?

7. Ole Miss Rebels

Previous Ranking: 7

Ole Miss holds firm to their No. 7 ranking in this week’s update as the Rebels topped Troy 28-10 at home to advance to 1-0. While the score might have been closer than most expected, there were a few notable takeaways from the contest such as Jaxson Dart seeing a majority of the time at quarterback, along with the Rebels defense impressing at times.

The Rebels will also have an opportunity to pickup another sizable win in week two as Ole Miss will host Central Arkansas on Saturday night. Ole Miss will be a big favorite going in, with this being a game that the Rebels should win by multiple touchdowns.
