SEC Football was as dominant as any conference during Week 1, finishing the weekend with a combined 13-1 overall record. As we enter Week 2 as well, the SEC’s dominance is once again on full display in the latest AP Poll Top 25 released on Tuesday afternoon as a total of eight teams from within the conference now enter this weekend ranked.

8 SEC Football teams ranked in Week 2 AP Poll Top 25

Top ranked Alabama remained in the No. 1 spot after a dominant 55-0 home win over Utah State, while Georgia jumped one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 after their impressive 49-3 victory over Oregon in Atlanta. Texas A&M, which was SEC Football’s lone other team in the Top 10, remained at the No. 6 spot after their 31-0 home win over Sam Houston.

Outside of the Top 10, arguably the most notable movement came with Florida, as the Gators went from unranked in the preseason to No. 12 in Week 2. Florida upset Utah, the then No. 7 team in the country, at home during Week 1 by using a late interception to secure the 29-26 win, and now see their ranking skyrocket because of it.

Tennessee also moved from unranked to No. 24 after their 59-10 home win over Ball State on Thursday night. The Volunteers were previously one of the first teams left out of the Top 25 in the preseason.

As for the remainder of SEC Football teams in the Top 25, Arkansas saw a small rise as the Razorbacks jumped three spots to No. 16 after defeating previous No. 23 Cincinnati 31-24 at home. Kentucky remained at the No. 20 spot after defeating Miami (OH) 37-13 at home, while Ole Miss was the lone SEC team to drop as the Rebels fell one spot to No. 22 after their 28-10 home win over Troy.
