Florida vs Kentucky: 2022 SEC Football game preview, TV schedule
Can Anthony Richardson and Florida keep up their momentum from last week and beat Kentucky? Or will Will Levis beat Florida after beating Miami-Ohio last week? Whatever happens, it will be one of the best games in college and SEC Football this week when these two potential future NFL Draft picks face off.
Game Time: September 10, 2022 at 7:00 P.M ET
TV Schedule: ESPN
Location: Ben Griffin Hill Stadium
Kentucky goes into this game ranked 20th in the country in the AP poll. Florida goes into this game ranked 12th in the country in the AP Poll, which sets up a Top 25 SEC Football showdown.
The Florida Gators face off against Kentucky after upsetting Utah in the statement of last week. Billy Napier won his coaching debut for the Gators behind a great performance from Anthony Richardson. The Heisman candidate had 168 yards passing and 106 yards rushing. Richardson led the Gators to their game-winning drive against Utah late in the fourth quarter.
While Richardson played very well, Florida won the game after Amari Burney intercepted a Cam Rising pass. This is a very interesting game for the Gators in Week 2. If they beat the Wildcats, they have two straight wins against top-25 teams. People will have to take them seriously as a team that will make some serious noise this year. One thing is for certain, Richardson will certainly make a huge difference in the game.
While Richardson is a great player, he has a tendency to be very inaccurate sometimes. While he wasn’t very inaccurate in the game against Utah, he has been inconsistent at times over his college career.
Kentucky is led by Will Levis. Levis is considered a top QB prospect this year for the NFL. In a class full of talented QBs, he is expected to be one of the top QBs coming out this year. Mark Stoops definitely has this program on the right track after winning 10 games last year. Levis and Stoops helped lead the Wildcats to a victory in the Citrus Bowl last year.
Look for the Wildcats to throw the ball early and often. The Levis to Tayvion Robinson connection will be huge in this game. Kentucky might be missing their star running back in this affair with Chris Rodriguez out because of a suspension. While he was out last week, the length of his suspension has not been announced by Stoops. Rodriguez was suspended after a DUI in the offseason.
Prediction:
Florida: 21 Kentucky: 28
This game could go either way but I have more faith in Levis than in Richardson. While Richardson is great, he can be very inconsistent. I think that Kentucky will suffer from not having Rodriguez (most likely), but will win this game behind a strong performance from Levis and Robinson. While I think Kentucky will win this game, I would also not be shocked if Billy Napier’s squad beat Kentucky behind another spectacular performance from Richardson either.
