SEC Basketball: South Carolina, Tennessee among biggest August recruiting winners
By Matt Melton
Auburn Tigers
August Commits:
- 4-star PG Aden Holloway
Auburn landed the first commitment of their 2023 class during August in Aden Holloway, a four-star point guard out of Prolific Prep in California. Holloway is one of the highest-rated guards to ever commit to Auburn out of high school, and is likely a favorite to start from day one for the Tigers at point guard in 2023-24.
LSU Tigers
August Commits:
- 4-star PF Corey Chest
LSU also added the first commitment of their 2023 class in Corey Chest, a four-star power forward out of Link Academy in Missouri. A versatile forward at 6-foot-8, Chest has all the makings of a day one impact player for the Tigers in 2023-24, one who is among the top frontcourt defenders in the 2023 class.
Ole Miss Rebels
August Commits:
- 3-star SF Jordan Burks
The final notable recruiting winner during August was Ole Miss, as the Rebels added their third commitment of the 2023 cycle in Jordan Burks. A three-star forward out of Central Pointe Academy in Florida, Burks is an all-around solid wing with impressive athleticism who could potentially make a day one impact in Oxford.
