SEC Football Game Today: Vanderbilt vs Wake Forest Line, Predictions, Odds, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Football
By Matt Melton
One of the more underrated SEC Football matchups in Week 2 could actually come in Nashville as Vanderbilt hosts one of the ACC’s top teams in Wake Forest. The first meeting between the two schools since 2012, Vanderbilt also owns the all-time series between the two 10-6, as well as having won each of the last two games between the Commodores and Demon Deacons.
Vanderbilt (2-0) picked up their second win of the season last Saturday as the Commodores defeated Elon at home 42-31, a game in which the Commodores never trailed. Averaging an impressive 52.5 PPG offensively across the first two weeks of the season, the Commodores have gotten strong play from a few names in particular, most notable quarterback Mike Wright who has thrown for a 6:0 TD:INT, as well as having rushed for four touchdowns.
In addition to Wright, the Commodores offense features two key wide receivers in Will Sheppard and Jayden McGowan, as well as running back Re’Mahn Davis who has rushed for 182 yards and a touchdown on 29 attempts. Three names on the Vanderbilt defense have also collected double-digit tackles across the first two games in Anfernee Orji, BJ Anderson, and Max Worship, a trio that leads a unit allowing 20.5 PPG to opponents.
Wake Forest (1-0) on the other hand also began the 2022 season with a 44-10 win over VMI, and now enter Week 2 ranked as the No. 23 team in the country. Accumulating 506 yards of total offense, the Demon Deacons received a notable performance from quarterback Mitch Griffis, who threw for three touchdowns, while Christian Turner also rushed for two scores.
Quarterback Sam Hartman will be making his season debut in Week 2 to headline the Wake Forest offense, and will be joined by others such as Taylor Morin, Donavon Greene, and Justice Ellison. On defense, the Demon Deacons were led by Kobie Turner with a team-high six tackles, while Brendon Harris, Dylan Hazen, and Isaiah Wingfield also had notable performances.
Vanderbilt vs Wake Forest Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under

Vanderbilt vs Wake Forest SEC Football Prediction
While Vanderbilt has impressed across the first two weeks of the season, this is undoubtedly their biggest test yet. The Commodores, led by Wright, will need a big game offensively to have a chance to win, but even if that happens, it still might not be enough to out-score Hartman and the Demon Deacons in what could be a high scoring contest. Prediction: Vanderbilt 24, Wake Forest 35
