As the attention now turns to week three of the 2022 SEC Football season, which teams rose and fell in our latest power rankings after multiple big matchups in week two?

Georgia, Kentucky rise in Week 3 SEC Football 2022 power rankings

14. Missouri Tigers

Previous Ranking: 13

The Tigers dropped a spot to No. 14 after suffering their first loss of the 2022 season, falling to Kansas State on the road 40-12. Now 1-1 on the year, the Tigers struggled in a few notable areas against the Wildcats, most notably by allowing 235 total yards rushing to Kansas State, along with only amassing 222 total yards of offense themselves.

Up next for Missouri is one final tuneup before SEC play as the Tigers will host Abilene Christian next Saturday. The Tigers will be big favorites over Abilene Christian, and should win by multiple touchdowns.

13. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

Vanderbilt suffered their first loss of the season Saturday afternoon, falling 45-25 at home to No. 23 Wake Forest in a game which the Commodores never led. Even despite the loss however, the Commodores do rise a spot here as Vanderbilt’s offense showed flashes in week two at different spots, most notably through the play off running back Re’Mahn Davis (18 carries, 87 yards, 1 TD) and freshman quarterback AJ Swann who threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Now 2-1 on the year, the Commodores are set to travel in week three as Vanderbilt will take on Northern Illinois on Saturday afternoon. The matchup with the Huskies will provide one final test for the Commodores before SEC Football play, and is a game that Vanderbilt should win.
