8. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 9

Mississippi State quietly had one of SEC Football’s most impressive performances for the second straight week, going on the road to defeat Arizona 39-17. A one-possession game entering the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs would however own the game’s final frame, out-scoring the Wildcats 14-0.

As mentioned on the previous page, up next for 2-0 Mississippi State is yet another road trip as the Bulldogs will travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU. A game that could be close, the Bulldogs simply have everything needed to go into Tiger Stadium and come away with a win over LSU to advance to 3-0.

7. Ole Miss Rebels

Previous Ranking: 7

After defeating Troy 28-10 in their season opener, Ole Miss routed Central Arkansas in Week 2 with a 59-3 home win to remain at No. 7 here. A game in which the Rebels never trailed, Ole Miss posted a total of 510 yards on offense in the contest, and even held a 28-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Looking ahead to Week 3 however, the Rebels will face their toughest test of the season so far as Ole Miss will travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. While the Yellow Jackets are certainly a step up in competition from Troy and Central Arkansas, this is a game that Ole Miss should win on the road.
